Intro

Christ the King Anglican Church is a small church in San Diego County, California. Eric Zolner serves there as the Rector (Senior Pastor). He sat down with our team to share how choosing a single-platform solution made more time for ministry at their church.

Choosing a Single-Platform Solution

Shortly after Eric arrived to serve at Christ the King Anglican Church, the church administrator retired leaving additional tasks on Eric’s plate. He knew he needed something to help streamline processes and free him up to focus on ministry.

Eric had used Ministry Brands Software at a previous church, so the decision to start using it at Christ the King was easy.

Eric shared, “It was all on me. I wanted something that I knew how to use, something that I knew worked well, and something that wouldn’t take a lot of time to manage.”

The loss from her retirement was significant, but in many ways, Eric used Ministry Brands to help fill her shoes.

Eric explained, “We didn’t have to hire a new administrator. With the help of the software I was able to do a lot of the things that she was doing, but do them faster and more efficiently so we could use our resources in other areas where we needed them more.”

Now, the church has more time and more finances to focus on ministering to those in their community.

Major Impacts

Before switching to Ministry Brands, Christ the King struggled with an outdated system, but making the switch offered solutions to the problems they faced.

The Problems:

  • No real email list
  • No method of mass communication
  • No way to give online

The Solutions:

  • A single-platform solution
  • Automatic integration between the different tools
  • Faster, more efficient processes
  • Access to additional resources

A Story of Two Churches

To explain the impact Ministry Brands has made, Eric shared a story comparing two churches he has served at.

Church #1

Before moving to Christ the King, Eric served at a church that used multiple platforms to do multiple different things.

Every year, when January rolled around and giving statements needed to be sent out, there was consternation in the office because this process was far from simple or quick.

Their team spent the entire month pulling the giving information from one list, addresses from another, and then manually addressing and sending out statements. In many ways, it felt as if the church office was shut down for a month just trying to get giving statements out. It was frustrating, taxing, and time-consuming.

Church #2

Once Christ the King started using a single-platform solution, giving statements became an easy task to check off the list in January.

A simple push of the button emails out giving statements automatically. It’s quick, easy, and stress-free.

In short, Eric explained, “[Sending out giving statements] went from a month of toil to a couple clicks of the mouse, and the job was done. This is a good example of how everything works together to make the life of a church easier so that we can be about doing the things that we are called to do, and not about managing all the minutia.”

Moving Forward

If your church sounds more like church number one, Eric would tell you, “It doesn’t have to be that hard.”

He shared that he’s spoken with numerous church leaders who say they’re still doing things like it’s 1980.

Unfortunately, that can be frustrating, laborious, and time-consuming. But, a single-platform solution can alleviate workloads and streamline processes freeing you more time and resources for ministry.
